Susan Griswold Blandy is Professor and Faculty Librarian at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York where she has held every professional job in the Library except Director.

She teaches the one credit research skills course and the Honors Program course: American Architecture in its Social Context in addition to her assignments as Periodicals and Public Relations Librarian, Coordinator of the High Schools Field Trip Program, Liaison to Liberal Arts (over 100 faculty) and "as shall arise."

She has served on many campus committees including Curriculum, Academic Policies, Assessment and Accountability, the Honors Program, the Middle States Self Study, the Presidential Search Committee, the Chancellor's Award and the faculty union.

She midwived the college's Crafts for Credit program liaison with the Rensselaer County Council for the Arts. Susan obtained a 4 year series of grants to present the symposia on Art & Technology: of Egypt, the Classical World, the Middle Ages, and 100 years of Tiffany stained glass.

In 1989 Susan was awarded the New York State Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Librarianship, and she is a member of Beta Phi Mu.

She is a graduate of Oberlin College, McGill University Library School and the State University at Albany.

Susan has been a member of the New York Library Association: Academic and Special Libraries Section for years, serving twice on the board and co- organizing and editing the section newsletter. She is also a member of ALA (EMIERT), ACRL (EBSS) and SUNYLA.

In her spare time she is president of Friends of Chamber Music, a presenting group. She and her husband, an architect-environmental activist, have two grown sons who use e-mail to call home.
