The members of the course development team and their responsibilities are described below:

Curriculum Specialist

The curriculum specialist's primary responsibility is to ensure the overall integrity of the curriculum. As a member of the course development team, the curriculum specialist provides the broad perspective on how the course is to fit into the existing curriculum and establishes the course scope, focus, and goals. He or she reviews and must approve all deliverables submitted by team members and also serves as final arbiter in any disputes that cannot otherwise be resolved by team members.

Project Manager/Instructional Designer

The project manager/instructional designer coordinates the efforts of the design team and has responsibility for ensuring the pedagogical soundness of the course design. He or she provides expertise on how the selected course materials can be used to the best advantage from a purely instructional standpoint.

Author/Content Expert

The author/content expert writes the guide, suggests textbooks and other materials, drafts an outline of the guide, drafts course goals, and supplies other written sections as indicated.

Peer Reviewer

The peer reviewer reviews the guide and other materials to assure accuracy and the appropriate coverage of topics.

Editor

The editor reviews the text of the guide to ensure the use of an appropriate style and proper grammar, spelling, and format, and to ensure consistency in the overall manuscript.
