Economics Net-Text

Introduction

Welcome to the Economics Net-Text .

The Net-Text is an active learning environment is designed to provide graphical simulation models of economic theories. Each module presents a topic from a different area of economics varying from principles to advanced undergraduate subjects. Interactive graphical economic models demonstrate important concepts and theoretical issues with assumptions and parameters that may be changed with a click.

The Net-Text uses interactive graphical illustrations and a text engine with embeded solution data to explain important economic concepts. Simulation scenarios may be formed to allow the comparison and contrast of different assumptions and parameters that affect the application and use of the concepts. The Net-Text is ideal for distance learning and provides 'learning by doing' rather than passive reading. It is an effective training tool for quantitative analysis and better explains the limits of effectiveness of economic theory.

A paperback edition of the Net-Text Learning Resource Guide [click on the hypertext and enter Professor Black or product code 947811] may be purchased (price $25) over the net from the publisher, Erudition Books. The Resource Guide is a supplement to the on-line narrative and simulation models. It provides augmented explanations and narrative about each simulation model and discusses how to use the parameters and simulations to better understand the material.
